Most people don’t realize this because I’m all about glitz & glam- but I’m a total geek. I grew up on comics, loved to read just about everything, & excelled in science. Recently my mom, Hana, & I had the opportunity to check out the new art exhibit at the Bellagio here in Las Vegas focusing on European & American paintings portraying the Industrial Revolution. This exhibition is organized in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston & many of the pieces were brand new to me in person. Have you ever had a staycation? Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Casablanca Resort & Casino for a short stay & it happens to be in Mesquite, Nevada! Mesquite is about an hour outside Aliante in Las Vegas where we live- & Mesquite happens to be the city my parents live. When you fall in love with someone, you don’t always get to choose the details. Ryan is my match who happens to be in the military. I really struggle with both being a supportive military wife & having a “normal” home life like everyone else. Sometimes this life is really hard & we make a lot of sacrifices most people don’t have to think about. We are pretty blessed so it gets me thinking about the lives of other veterans & those serving as well. I’d never been to a Shake Shack before so when I was invited to the grand opening in Summerlin, NV (close to Las Vegas!), Ryan & I were pretty excited! I recently had the opportunity to check out a new show here in Vegas- Dirk Arthur Wild Magic. His new show is at the Westgate Resort & Casino located just slightly off the strip. We’d actually never been there before & we were excited to check it out! We picked up our tickets & sat down front & center to enjoy the show! I’d be a liar if I didn’t say one of my favorite parts was the huge, metallic curtain- which my husband rolled his eyes at me for. Growing up, the music I listened to was directly related to what my mom liked. & she loved rock (KROQ in California to be exact!) so I grew up listening to Santana. Carlos Santana is actually from California so we were all pretty obsessed too!
