Is it just me or is summer practically over? For those that missed my announcement on instagram (see it here for @homeinhighheels & on my beauty channel @stephlouiseatb here!) we’re finally expecting! & with creating life came about 2 full months of bedrest illness. It was fun for absolutely no one. So here I am finally feeling a bit more myself &… realizing summer is almost over! I can’t believe it! So today I’m sharing 5 FUN ideas you can quickly put together to get together with your friends in a low-key setting or even do it up on your own! Keep reading to check them all out!

Food Prep & Baking Party
First up, a really useful get together. Maybe not a party for everyone, but a great excuse to get things done, chat, & have a low-key meetup. A month of meals is a really popular idea but so is a week or even just a week of lunches. It can really depend on who you invite! For me, I set this up as a food prep for friends with deep freezers. On the back of each card are some questions that are really important as well! You’ll want to keep in mind dietary restrictions, matching up with similar tastes, what people are most comfortable doing, & how big their family is for portions. My favorite thing about this invite is that I was able to shift the colors to something girly without being all pink. It also had lots of room to add details & leave space for the answers on the back! Sometimes you have a coffee meetup prior to assign tasks then a full night of cooking & prep another time!
Spa Party
My personal favorite because I love relaxing get togethers where we can share wine, chat, & just breathe easy! I usually ask people to bring extra cotton balls, drinks, or certain brands they love. Sometimes we do DIYs like sugar scrubs or shea butters we can take home. This is also super popular for essential oils! For us, usually it is all about manicures & pedicures then picking out a silly movie while our nails dry! Here I customized the invite because…brighter shades appeal to my group of girlfriends!
Glow in the Dark Blacklight Party
Don’t want to host at your house? Maybe you want to let people bring their kids as well? Consider bowling! Glow in the Dark or Blacklight Bowling is my personal favorite! Remind your friends to wear neons so they pop or do a totally 80’s theme. It is always a reasonable priced night & it gives everyone a reason to get competitive & have fun. That’s always a good thing!

Spooky Slumber Party
Anyone else a horror movie buff? This one can obviously be for chick flicks as well…but c’mon! How fun is it to rip apart a cheesy flick with your friends?! This is also an excellent way to keep everyone safe if you plan to drink as well! Do spooky nails, damsel makeup, & have some silly snacks on hand. Plus, this invite is probably my favorite!

Under the Sea Mermaid Brunch
Hosting during the day is honestly one of the easiest! On the weekends, it is easier to find a sitter for a few hours so if you want to have an adult festivity, brunch is perfect! I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow a theme so to kiss summer a little harder I had to go with mermaids. Invite your friends to dress us, do mermaid makeup, wear shiny accessories, or even provide everyone with a seashell hairpin! The options are endless & great food a the perfect way to catch-up!
Are you still in love with getting real invitations like I am? I’m thinking more about baby time & Basic Invite has these baby shower invitations & these elephant baby show invitations which I’m loving since our nursery is mainly gray. See any favorites? What events do you think warrant a special invitation or should it be whenever you feel like it? They always make me feel a bit more excited- not going to lie!
