One of the things we looked into during quarantine? Our budget. We were spending a lot of time at home, a lot of money on things we weren’t utilizing, & we had a lot of weird, floating free time to use up. So yeah- suddenly our budget caught our eye. & our phone plan. Yikes. We always look at a phone plan as an investment because Ryan is active duty military. What’s that have to do with our phones? A lot. A whole lot. Keep reading to see why we switched to Verizon & why if you support the military or are a military family…you really need to check this out!
We were one of those couples who got together & just merged onto a phone plan. He’d had the same company & getting out of a contract was just too hard. But with the extra time & incentives from Verizon, we were so ready to jump to a company that had our best interests at heart. Like voting, you put your money where your values are. Pair that with needing excellent internet, phone service, & devices? We were sold. On top of that, they actually don’t limit themselves to active duty. Verizon actually has created programs for both veterans & active duty spouses- something I’ve never seen before.
Spouses…we don’t always have the easiest time getting hired. I’ve had employers specifically state that while I was qualified, I wasn’t considered reliable. Or that they wanted someone to be “more local” aka they knew we wouldn’t be stationed in that location forever. Getting hired for a mainstream job as a spouse isn’t easy- regardless of the laws in place trying to help with that. They are actually consistently voted in the top spots from Hiring Our Heroes, Military Spouse Employment Partnership, Veteran Jobs Mission, Wounded Warrior Project, & a bunch more excellent resources- some I’ve volunteered for myself over the years.
During normal circumstances, we are both traveling frequently. Right now? We’re just grateful we’re able to communicate safely with our loved ones, some that are medically at risk especially. We also feel better paying money to a company that actually gives back & provides beneficial resources for our community- not just talk. It’s Military Family Month too- a great time to switch! They’re also focused on the Wounded Warrior Project (matching donations up to $250K) which is close to our hearts.
Verizon always has exclusive discounts for military members, vets, & their families. Check out more information here!
