Things I love about going to the spa? Oh- pretty much everything. Recently I had the opportunity to check out the gorgeous Costa del Sur Spa located inside the South Point Hotel & Casino. I actually planned a mother/daughter day & we had a blast! Keep reading to see what we did, take a peek at the spa, & find out about their treatments!
With more than 40,000 square feet, 28 treatment rooms and a full-service salon, the Costa del Sur Spa & Salon specializes in creating a unique and relaxing experience that caters specifically to each of its guests’ needs. The spa is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. not including holidays.

After checking in at the spa we headed inside! We were given sandals & our keys to the lockers. We were both thrilled to find ultra-plush & thick robes in the private women’s changing room. We were able to change & then (because she’s my mother & I’m apparently her clone) we stopped over to wash our hands. Not only were the bathrooms super clean but the sinks were beautifully laid out with anything you could need including shaving cream, lotions, & even mouth wash.
Our lovely host walked us around on a short tour next & our first shop was the showers. Is it weird to be excited about showers? Meh- I don’t care! This photo is just a small snapshot of the showers available & each one has a label on the outside…because each one is fully stocked with a different scent! From Cucumber Melon to Green Tea- this was the PERFECT way to end a spa day!
Next we went to our favorite room of all…well besides the treatment room of course! This room is huge & where we spent the majority of our time. When you book a spa treatment, you’re able to take advantage of the amenities for the entire day. Which is honestly heaven!
Inside this grand room you have access to the eucalyptus steam room, redwood sauna, jacuzzi, cool plunge pool, cascading showers, & cool pool. Plus loungers which we sat & drank tea in frequently from the waiting room.
Ok- waiting room sounds odd. But that is kind of what it is! I think technically it is called the calm room or something similar. This was the last stop on our little tour. Inside there is a small kitchen with lots of drink options & healthy snacks, tons of seating, reading material, & a television. You come here about 15 minutes prior to your treatment so they can call you in.
Guests will leave the stress and worry of the year behind them as they reconnect mind with body during the 50-Minute Aroma Blend Body Therapy treatment. A masterful blend of therapeutic aromas will provide full body and mind relaxation. As the aromas infuse with the skin through a relaxing, deep massage it will allow guests to reawaken their senses, alleviate muscle soreness and eliminate stress.
Mom & I both had the 50-Minute Aroma Blend Body Therapy & chose to have it in a joint room. While our masseuses left to let us get under our heated blankets, we also selected our oils. We loved this treatment because it felt so customized! First we chose a main oil then an additional oil to mix in. I opted for the Decléor Relaxation Oil which contains oils meant to focus on anti-stress like chamomile, neroli, & sweet orange. My add in choice (or focus oil) was the Decléor Refine Oil Blend which contains grapefruit, majoram, & patchouli.

Mom opted for the Decléor Harmony with rose, geranium, & vanilla extract to fight the blue. Her add-in oil was Decléor Firmness which has a blend of cistus, geranium, & rosemary. We were both really happy with our selections & even had a little extra to take home!
The combination of the heated blankets, super strong & dedicated masseuses, & the relaxing atmosphere really made this massage special. We were both incredibly impressed & super relaxed. It was heaven. She actually was able to work out the tension in my shoulder which has been really difficult over the years. After our massages we headed back into the main room.
Mom & I actually spent most of our time right here- it is like a mini hot tub! Technically it is a cascading shower (there are two!) but instead we sat & chattered away without bothering any of the other ladies. & yes- just ladies in this area! Some were nude while others wore bathing suits. We’re bathing suit gals! That eucalyptus steam room also cleared our heads after only a minute- so nice! We spent the day drinking our flavored water (provided fresh in the waiting room) & also brought along some shaker bottles for lunch. We stayed a large portion of the day, enjoyed a super luxurious shower & amenities, & made sure to tip nicely on our way out. The staff made that day so special for us & everyone else as well. We didn’t tell anyone I was a blogger (I never do) so they really are just genuinely that kind & attentive! Mom I had the perfect bonding day- all thanks to South Point Hotel’s Costa del Sur Spa. We can’t wait to go back!
