I’d never been to a Shake Shack before so when I was invited to the grand opening in Summerlin, NV (close to Las Vegas!), Ryan & I were pretty excited! We love a fancy meal but we’re probably burger lovers at heart. This was our first time in the new-ish Summerlin shopping area as well so it was quite the experience. A lot of people showed up & it was a bit crowded- but we’re all about the food. So what did we think & what did we eat? Keep reading to find out!

Shake Shack® is a modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural, antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers (no hormones added ever), hot dogs, frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, beer and wine (available at select locations), and more. With its fresh, simple, high-quality food at a great value, Shake Shack is a fun and lively community-gathering place with widespread appeal. From its premium ingredients and caring hiring practices to its environmentally responsible designs and deep community investment, Shake Shack’s mission is to Stand For Something Good®. Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in NYC’s Madison Square Park, the company has opened multiple locations in New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia, and international locations including in London, Istanbul, Dubai, Moscow, and more.
Ryan ordered the SmokeShack Burger which is a cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce. & he absolutely loved it! The cherry peppers added a nice kick & he automatically gravitates towards bacon. I pointed to it on the menu & he was sold.
What really made us both gasp with delight was the bun oddly enough! See that little attachment there? It keeps all of the toppings & yums inside! The texture of the bread was so fluffy & oh so buttery. We were really impressed!
Like Ryan, a certain burger called my name: the Shack Stack®. This baby is ahhhhhh-mazing! Here you get a cheeseburger and a ’Shroom Burger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce. What is a ‘Shroom burger you ask? Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce. So instead of a double cheeseburger or a veggie burger…I got the best of both worlds!
& can we talked about how full of cheese this super crisp & juicy portobello mushroom was? I could barely contain it to take this photo! Is there anything better than oozing cheese? No. There isn’t.
& we couldn’t head out without trying a concrete! We really got into these when we were at our last base so we were excited to see them on the menu! This is the Summerlin S’more & it had huge chunks of seriously decadent brownie thrown in. & we devoured it. I’d say we were embarrassed but…we weren’t.

The menu is basic at its core but more unique when you look into the details. Each location is also a bit different- some have specialty items! Summerlin currently has the Summerlin S’more for example! The main items on the menu are their burgers, hot dogs, shakes/concretes, & of course fries. & we loved everything we had! They did run out of cheese fries while we were there so you can bet we have big plans to try those next time! This particular location is located at 10975 Oval Park Drive in Las Vegas at the Dining Arroyo. View the Summerlin location here or find one near you here!
