You know those concerts that pop up & you just know you’ll have to be there? This was definitely one of those not just for me but also for my best friend- also known as my mom. I grew up rocking out to Billy Idol tunes. He was (& easily still is) my celebrity crush. & on top of that…his music is basically running through my veins.

Billy Idol brings his explosive rock show back to House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Billy Idol: Forever features Idol, his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, and the rest of Idol’s band at the top of their game, performing songs from throughout Idol’s extensive catalog.
So what was it like telling my mom we were going? It was a lot like telling someone they get a million dollars- lots of screaming & exclamation points. One of my favorite moments ever! We actually came back from a pre-planned family trip early to get ourselves rested & ready.

Mom had been with me to Mandalay Bay before for some press events for Cosmoprof North America but it was her first time ever at a House of Blues! If you’ve never been – this is an experience all in itself! The House of Blues is an extremely unique venue & even features a restaurant. There’s nothing else that screams “cool” more than the unique setup, walls, & classic feel. House of Blues is basically the perfect venue for all things music.
We had pretty amazing seats- dead center & up high enough we could see everything! This was lucky because my mom has been undergoing minor surgeries on her back so we weren’t bunched up with other people. We were both pretty relieved!
When it comes to the performance…nothing can touch Billy Idol or his band. Steve Stevens is absolutely insane on the guitar. I’ve never seen anything like him! He had a lot of solos & the crowd was completely in awe every time because everything he did was so spectacular.
The rest of the band? Ridiculously good as well. Billy Idol can obviously have his pick & every single member was just as wild & fun as him on stage. You could really see that they all liked each other & got time to shine. They’re definitely legends.
But Billy Idol? He has that special energy that can’t be faked. If you can come out & see him live…you definitely shouldn’t miss it! The crowd was also one of the best because everyone was genuinely having a great time!
