I’ve been sick for what feels like months. What is it about colder weather that just shoots down my immune system! Working from home means I can take a lot of breaks which is super important but sick is sick. Miserable is miserable, right? Today I’m talking about some of my favorite activities when I’m just not feeling 100%- plus two of my favorite teas! Keep reading for my tips & sips!
One of my absolute favorite teas when I’m sick…but don’t know why…is the Bigelow Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea. Ginger is something I always have in my house because it helps with general well-being & digestion. This tea is a bit zesty with another one of my favorite ingredients- lemongrass! This blend also contains probiotic BC 30 to help maintain a healthy balance in your digestion. I love the lemongrass, lemon peel, natural ginger, & other natural flavors combined for a soothing but not boring cup of tea.
When I’m sick I always pick caffeine-free drinks because sleep is HUGE for me! If you have the cold, flu, or anything else getting you down- very rarely is relaxing or sleep not helpful! But what about when you’re awake & bored out of your mind? While I definitely binge on Netflix sometimes, I also find myself finding things to do that are both relaxing & not noisy. Because I so often get breakouts or extreme dryness after being sick, I’ll sometimes throw on a face mask meant to help with relaxation. I’m not saying that crystals help make people feel better…but I often keep some near for some of that “positive energy” because it can’t hurt right?
Love green tea? Me too. If you want something a bit more bright the Bigelow Green Tea with Lemon is a perfect choice. Again- decaffeinated! This has a perky brightness with the added lemon peel & I just love breathing in the steam as it cools down to drink.
Another quiet activity I love? Coloring! I’ve been loving my gorgeous coloring book (check out this faerie themed book here in my review!) & these watercolor pencils I recently purchased for myself & as a gift are the ultimate artistic must-haves! I also paint so sometimes I use watercolor paints like these fantastic Japanese paints I recently bought. They’re something special! I think splurging on something artistic helps me when I’m anxious as well. Sometimes when I’m sick I get stir crazy so tasks can be really important!
I picked up both of my teas from Walmart. Now…I don’t recommend going out when you’re sick! Send someone else…a spouse, sibling, whatever! Stay away from people! Ha! I also love these teas specifically because they are individually wrapped. I tend to keep them everywhere I might need them- even by the bathtub!
