Taupe & plum are two of my favorite shades- & they often cross the line into each other. I frequently try to find taupe pieces that lean cool but it can be tough! Today I’m showing you muted hues I used to create a new favorite outfit that goes together seamlessly! Keep reading for all the details including outfit variations!

I’m incredibly into blazer at the moment! I bought some for fall & winter & am already prepping for spring! Because I’m quite busty, I often secure with a belt & leave the jacket open. I buy most of my belts here & really love the wide, elastic versions as I’m losing weight! I keep a bunch in varying shades to show off my waist.
AB STUDIO Muted Plum Crushed Velvet Blazer (Thrifted) : Available preowned here. A moto style velvet jacket here. A black velvet open blazer here. A similar crushed velvet blazer with lace details here.
I’m pretty obsessed with tulle skirts. They’re flowy, easy for me to store, & can easily be dressed up or down. I have a bunch in varying hues but I really dig this neutral!
Taupe/Muted Plum Full Tulle Skirt: The shade of this full taupe tulle skirt is called lilac & is available in plus sizes here. The exact shade isn’t available in straight sizes from where I bought it but they do have a black tulle skirt, red tulle skirt, & an emerald green tulle skirt. Here’s a very full eggplant tulle skirt. & this is a light taupe full tulle skirt. & if you dig a longer, more dramatic skirt, this full maxi tulle skirt in mauve is stunning!
These shoes are so comfortable that I wish I had picked them up in multiple colors. Lately I have a thing for black & brown shoes. They go with everything, are a bit more casual, & a good pair gets a lot of use. I’m also loving a chunkier heel. Below I’ve found some similar shoes from brands I love that are comfortable as well!
Black & Brown Wedge Heels from Sugar: These are similar & from the same brand with a chunky heel & woven detailing. I actually own these Ciara vented 2.5 inch chunky heels in the Mushroom shade & am they’re super comfortable! These black & brown block heels with woven details are definitely close in vibe to the pair I’m wearing as well!
To wash basically this entire outfit…I need some help! Especially with thrifted items, I like to make sure they’re treated with extra TLC but velvet- whew I especially like to make sure it gets lots of love! From the tulle fabric to the velvet blazer to the detailing on this tank, everything I prefer to dry clean. But I don’t like going to the dry cleaners…or paying that much honestly. I thrift a lot, so I’ve invested in Dryel. Dryel helps clean items without stretching or fading which is perfect for finicky fabrics like this! I also LOVE the Dryel Stain Pen!!!
Do you love wearing blazers as much as I do? Do you do your dry cleaning at home with Dryel? What kind of skirts are you willing to buy multiple of?
