I feel like this is one of those cookbooks everyone has heard of. Probably. The American Heart Association has put out lots of cookbooks over the years- this is actually the 5th edition of the American Heart Association Healthy Fats, Low-Cholesterol Cookbook as well. When it comes to what’s inside…I’m torn! Keep reading to find out why!
Now in its fifth edition, American Heart Association Healthy Fats, Low-Cholesterol Cookbook provides the most up-to-date information on heart health and nutrition. Good-for-you food should also be satisfying, and the American Heart Association reveals how easy it is to replace the bad fats in your diet with healthier ones. This classic cookbook offers more than 200 tempting dishes, 50 of which are new.
I cook a lot of healthy recipes & am a cookbook lover…so why can’t I give this one two thumbs up? Simply put- pictures. There actually aren’t any. As I was reading through this collection of recipes I found myself severely missing them & wishing there were some. I really liked the addition of newer recipes like the Balsamic Braised Beef with Exotic Mushrooms & Mango Brûlée with Pine Nuts which are pretty trendy right now. Basically this isn’t exactly a page turner for me…but there are some hits in here!
