There aren’t a ton of things here in Nebraska that we’ll miss but the Volcanic Peppers store is definitely high on the list of loves. The owner is just the nicest guy & what they sell is right up our alley. We even bought some as Christmas gifts last year to send to our families! We’ve picked up everything from Habanero Dust to Raspberry Scorpion Hot Sauce to seriously unique Reaper Chocolate Covered Pretzels! But today I want to focus on one of our purchases that has become a fast favorite due to our obsession with pizza- the Volcanic Peppers 5 Pepper Flakes Volcano Dust.
This flake mix contains Cayenne, Aleppo, Thai, Sweet Italian & Sucette de Provence peppers. The packaging is simple & effective. This is an interesting mix of sizes as well, some are larger flakes while others are quite small. If you want to use this as a basic seasoning it would be easy enough to throw in a spice grinder & pulverize.
We are super into pizza around here so we’re always trying new varieties or new recipes. Sometimes they’re seriously lacking on flavor & that’s where seasonings come to the rescue! Volcanic Peppers has tons of seasoning options (like really- tons!) but we just love this combo of peppers! Big shoutout to Tim the owner because he suggested it- we might never have picked it up! If you dig a bit of heat & complexity with your hot pepper seasonings then you have to give this a shot!
