Today is a seriously gorgeous day but we’ve been inside packing. We’re prepping our move little by little & I can’t believe we’ll be living in Vegas again in a month! We’re so excited but it has definitely been tons of work. While cleaning up I picked up a bunch of items I’ve been keeping on hand throughout the house & thought it was definitely time to share some favorites including my absolute favorite pjs, some recipes here on Home in High Heels, tons of snacks, & even my new business! Keep reading to check it out!
The Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment came as a sample from Sephora & now I’m seriously addicted! Sephora says this is an anti-aging lip treatment proven to repair, nourish, plump, and smooth the look of wrinkles around the delicate lip area. I find it to be ultra smoothe, clear, & incredible hydrating! Actually worth the splurge. This balm as a super secure design that won’t open in my purse either- a miracle design!
This month I launched Home in High Heels Designs on Etsy (view & favorite my shop here!) to share some of my designs & art. I’m so excited to make some of my designs & ideas available online! I’m actually planning to review some of my favorite art supplies, techniques, & even offer some freebies! Make sure you keep checking back & favorite the shop so you can see new items as I add them & when you see something that catches your eye or you’d like a custom item- make sure you use the code 10OFFAWESOME for 10% off! Make sure you follow me on Instagram here too since I’ll be posting stuff I’m working on & sneak peeks!
Since I’ve been doing so much work, I’ve been loving these Tazeka Pure Essential Oils! Two of my favorites are Peaceful Slumber & Meditation Guru but I also have Nonstop Thoughts. Peaceful Slumber isn’t your normal overpowering lavender but instead it is softened up with some cedar, sandalwood, neroli, & other calming scents. Perfect for before bed when I’m trying to wind down after staring at a computer screen all day. Another oil in kind of the same vein is Meditation Guru which has notes of frankincense, myrrh, Hawaiian sandalwood, & other soothing oils. Great for when I hit my wall around 2pm! I also love that these are rollerballs- way more convenient to use! Kind of a random favorite- but I’m obsessed with this Full CIrcle Glass Water Bottle! I picked this up at a local store & have completely fallen in love. Okay that probably sounds weird to normal people but to others who drink tons of tea, coffee, or water daily you know that a great cup or bottle is a must-have. So why should you care about this one? For one it is glass which I love for hot or iced items. The base has a silicone wrap & the top has a twist-on lid. The best part is that the lid slides a bit until it clicks & sudden it is open so you can sip as you please. This is perfect for when I make flavored water or drink mixes especially because I can mix things up in a jiff!
A cookbook I’ve been seriously in love with is My New Roots by Sarah Britton (I have the hardcover version but I might just get the kindle one too!). I reviewed it on the blog here but basically it a gorgeous collection of healthy, plant-based recipes! Sarah Britton is a top food blogger who I’ve followed for ages so this was super special! Make sure you read my quick review here!
Are you a green tea fan? Or a matcha fan? Then maybe you’ve spotted my blog post mentioning this Trader Joe’s Matcha Green Tea Latte Mix? If not then let me just say I love this stuff! In fact, I’ve been going through it like mad with all of the computer time I’ve been clocking. This isn’t the pure organic matcha powder (pick that up here on Amazon though, I have & use both!) but that makes this mix a no-brainer. You just mix 2-3 tablespoons in with water or milk & shake/stire until blended. You can add a bit of sugar if you like it sweeter & sometimes I froth up my milk for a creamy, dreamy treat right at home.
Did you catch my peek at this tasty Sansaire Sous Vide dinner? Ryan & I are big time foodies & when I got this in the mail I squealed like the culinary geek I am. The first thing we made were some drunken peaches & the second was these fancy artichoke mozzerella stuffed turkey meatballs you see above! The Sansaire Sous Vide Immersion Circulator is used in some of the world’s best restaurants. Professional chefs rely on sous vide for precise, predictable results like a perfectly cooked steak or precisely cooked poached egg. Expect to see lots more recipes & a review up on the blog!
Now I’m going to cheat here because I’m seriously in love with these earrings already! & I want you to be able to pick them up if they’re available to you at your local TJ Maxx. Apparently Bella Jack is a jewelry brand carried at Macy’s but I found these at TJ Maxx on sale for around $12! They look a lot (like A LOT) like these Kate Spade square glitter stud earrings I’ve been fawning over at a whole lot lower price point! I’m in love & if you are too make sure you check out your local Macy’s & TJ Maxx. One of our absolute favorite seasonings lately is this Volcanic Peppers 5 Pepper Flakes Seasoning which I just added to the blog here with details. If you love adding some kick to your pizza like we do- make sure you check them out!
Another favorite I posted this month is my recipe for these seriously simple 2-ingredient pancakes! If you have eggs, bananas, & a need for pancakes…you’ve got to check out my post! I also suggest some of our favorite add-ins.
I bought these paints of Amazon & I’m so happy with them! I haven’t done any big products yet but you’ve seen me use them a few times on instagram like the photo background above. The Sakura 24-Piece Koi Assorted Water Colors Set with Brush is a bargain price for really nice quality paints. I love the portable case & it doesn’t hurt that it comes with one of the refillable watercolor pens either. It has a spot for a small item to paint, removable palette, & a beautiful selection of shades. I really appreciate how securely it closes too! Plus sponges on the sides for cleaning make things super easy! I keep a folded up paper towel between the lid & mixing palette so I’m all set.
These KIND bars are seriously a staple in my house! There are tons of flavors & I highly recommend this variety pack with lots of options. There are two categories here & the first is Fruit & Nut which includes Almond and Coconut, Nut Delight, Almonds and Apricots, Fruit and Nut Delight, Apple Cinnamon and Pecan, & Peanut Butter Strawberry. My favorite happens to be the KIND Plus bars which has flavors like Blueberry Pecan, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, Almond Walnut Macadamia, Cranberry Almond, Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew, & Pomegranate Blueberry Pistachio. If you love bars where you can actually see & taste your food (I’m talking almond slices, real honey, & even Madagascar vanilla beans!) then you absolutely have to give these a try!
Another must-have is Skinny Pop Popcorn! I’m in love & Ryan can’t stop stealing handfuls either. We have quite a few bags of both the original flavor & white cheddar. & they’re both perfectly flavored! These are all-natural, a source of dietary fiber, & contain no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They are also non-GMO & gluten-free. You can even get them in 100 calorie snack packs! Guilt-free convenient snacking at its best!
Want something to go with the matcha green tea latte mix I suggested above? How about these mini Kit Kats flavored with green tea? These bars are easily one of my favorite Japanese imports with a sweet matcha/Maccha flavor mixed with creamy white chocolate that isn’t too overwhelmingly sweet. Ryan & I constantly pick these up at our local asian market but you can also pick them up from Amazon here!
& my last sweet treat is these Albanese Gummi Bears that we have embarrassingly been devouring like crazy. We bought these off Amazon after seeing them on one of our favorite Food Network shows & mutually agreeing we needed them in our lives. These are fat free, gluten-free, & made in the USA. Want more options? These come in 15 flavors: Ornery Orange, Poppin Pineapple, Granny Smith Apple, RRRipe Watermelon, Lickin Lemon, Wild Cherry, Bodacious Banana, Luscious Lime, Freshhh Strawberry, Rockin Raspberry, Groovy Grapefruit, Concord Grape. If you love gummy candy then you need to try these!
I’m super into Instagram this month too- gee can you tell? Make sure you’re following me @stephlouiseatb & feel free to tag me if you try anything or share things from my blogs! I love hearing from you guys! What were some of your favorites this month? Have you tried anything I mentioned or have some recommendations? Tell me about it in the comments below!
