When you think “Keurig” I bet you think of a hot cup of coffee right? Well now they’ve rolled out with Brew Over Ice options- perfect for the whole family! When I went to Walmart the variety was awesome- everything from iced tea to low calorie drinks to iced coffee! My husband actually isn’t a coffee fan & during the summer we don’t reach for hot drinks as much so this really helps us get more bang for our buck with the Keurig we have! In a pinch I started making these great popsicles that are super easy to recreate! Keep reading to check them out & make your own!
These Brew Over Ice K-Cups are pretty new to me, I admit I was blindly just buying coffee beforehand! Keurig says “Each pack is uniquely blended, with extra coffee, tea, or fruit to ensure a great tasting, refreshing beverage that’s delicious every time.” So you aren’t going to have that watered down taste some mixed drinks get once you add ice. If you’re wondering where all the K-cups you’re about to use will end up then fear not! Keurig has their very own recycling program that separates the grounds from the packaging for compost while the packaging goes to re-use. Fear not saviors of the environment- & feel free to keep on brewing!
So to get started brewing make sure to select the cup size for your taste buds- the smallest will give you a big hit of flavor while larger will mellow it out. Please remember to never brew into glass- always use plastic! For a helpful step by step video you can check out this page here! I picked up my K-Cups from Walmart with tons of options to choose from- check them all out above!
My favorite two popsicle versions at the moment are Strawberry Lemonade & Creamy Espresso. With the K-Cups Brew Over Ice they are super easy to make too! You can add more or less ice depending on how strong you’d like them to be & then bundle in other flavors to create your own variations as well!
For Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles combine one Green Mountain Naturals Brew Over Ice Lemonade K-Cup with chopped fresh strawberries. I personally like chunky fruit popsicles during summer but you can also blend them like above as well! I’ve also tried them with sliced kiwi & iced tea which was also really good!
Creamy Espresso was created using only a bit of high quality espresso & The Donut Shop Sweet & Creamy Iced Coffee K-Cup. Super simple right? Make, sprinkle, & then freeze! It sinks to the bottom but that’s what I like- it is kind of similar to having chocolate covered espresso beans but summer-fied! To make it more decadent add some whipped cream before freezing.
These are perfect after being out in the sun! Fishing & swimming- whew that was a long day! What are some of your favorite K-Cups? Have you tried any of the Brew Over Ice options?
