With the stunning revelation surrounding Bliss’s true identity comes the growing threat of the sinister Silver Bloods. Once left to live the glamorous life in New York City, the Blue Bloods now find themselves in an epic battle for survival. Not to worry; love is still in the air for the young vampires of the Upper East Side. Or is it? Schuyler has made her choice. She has forsaken Jack for Oliver, choosing human over vampire. But old loves die hard…And even coldhearted Mimi seems to suffer from the ties that bind.
Young vampires unite in this highly anticipated fourth installment of the New York Times best-selling series.
So have you enjoyed the first few books in the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz? If you haven’t yet read the previous books, please do if you want to avoid some slight spoilers! This is definitely different than the others!
This book was even more action packed than the previous. I was surprised to see this series turn into something less about designer labels & more about battling it out. I prefer the action although I don’t feel like this one delivered in the love department. Schuyler, Jack, & Oliver were such a large part of the other books that I was surprised that drama took such a backseat. I was actually growing more interested in what Schuyler would do so that she pretty much settled for Oliver kind of upsets me. There’s sweet Oliver being so kind & loving & I just feel like she’s going to snap him in half.
The Mimi feelings are quite odd. She barely talks about Jack at all & its all about Kingsley now. It didn’t seem like a natural transition to me. All they ever talk about is how close the twins are then poof, completely separate missions. I did like seeing Mimi’s softer side with the kids though & it makes me wonder if she won’t get softer in the next books. Fabulous still, but softer. Did anyone else gasp when she chopped her heels?
The ending is one I actually expected, kind of. Well, hoped for. I thought maybe they would try to bond them & it wouldn’t take because both of them weren’t into it. Like…at all. I want to know what happens to Kingsley, he has quickly become very interesting to me. Bliss certainly has an intriguing end…what will become of her now? & this whole issue with Michael & Gabriella is kind of left open ended. I just hope the next book isn’t all about running away because I like the rest of the characters just as much if not more than Jack & Schuyler.
